Butter Tart Squares

"Stressed spelled backward is desserts." - Anonymous, quoted in the July issue of Canadian Living, which also has a recipe for

Butter Tart Squares.

They will be made. Oh, yes, they will be made - but with pecans, not walnuts and raisins. My grandma used pecans, not raisins or walnuts, so that's the way I like my butter tarts.

I understand that butter tarts is a Canadian thing.

Love them.
My mom makes them with raisins though.

Yes, I've heard that it is the 8only* Canadian culinary invention, but I find that hard to believe. Still yummy, though!

I craved butter tarts nearly every day I was living in the US. Nine years.

Then ate a few too many when I moved home.
